• Should I choose galvanised or powder coated? Galvanised is the better choice outdoors, in wash bays and near the coast, because the zinc coating protects the steel even if the surface is scratched. Powder coated yellow gives higher daytime visibility. Both share the same 76mm pipe, 900mm height and base plate.
• How is the bollard installed? The welded 150mm base plate bolts directly to an existing concrete slab through four 14mm holes using concrete screw bolts. No excavation or core drilling required, and only one person needed to complete the install.
• Is the bollard removable? No. This is a fixed bollard for permanent installation, though it can be unbolted and relocated if your layout changes. For daily vehicle access, choose a removable keylock bollard.
• How much impact will it take? The 3mm wall and 76mm diameter suit trolleys, forklifts and low-speed vehicle contact. Where heavy vehicle impact is a genuine risk, step up to a 90mm, 114mm or 140mm bollard.
• Will the galvanised finish need repainting? No. Hot dip galvanising is a metallurgical coating, not a paint film, so it will not peel or flake and needs no ongoing recoating.
• Can it be used indoors? Yes. The finish suits both indoor and outdoor applications, including damp and washdown environments.
