Floor bunding is a barrier that stops liquids such as chemicals, oil, or other hazardous substances from spreading beyond a particular area. It is often placed strategically at doorways or openings to stop liquids from spilling outside. Bunding solutions are available in various sizes and configurations. Floor bunding creates a a raised edge on the floor, which creates a containment barriers against spilled liquids. As typically floor bunding is used for hazardous chemicals, it is manufacturedf from high-quality polymer for added durability.

Two of the key standards required for the installation of floor bunding relates to the type of liquid needing to be contained. For example, corrosive substances require a durable polyethylene bunding, which is able to withstand being broken down. On the other hand, if you're storing flammable liquids, a steel bund is required by law. 

What cleaning or maintenance do I need?

Most floor bunding is manufactured from polyethylene, which a highly durable material, even when coming into contact with corrosive substances. This type of bunding is easy to clean and will last a long time, however important to regularly inspect the bunding. Any cracks, chips or gaps will need replacing as the containment area will be broken.
