Tactile Indicator Installation for Heyington Bridge Upgrade – Burnley, VIC
As part of the Heyington Bridge Upgrade project, Enforcer completed the installation of Tactile Indicator Studs to support pedestrian accessibility and improve safety across the new walking and cycling connection.
The works formed part of the broader bridge redevelopment designed to deliver safer and more efficient movement for pedestrians and cyclists across the Eastern Freeway corridor.
Project Scope
The project involved the installation of 2,280 Tactile Indicator Studs into concrete surfaces across key pedestrian access areas associated with the bridge upgrade works. The Tactile Indicator Studs were installed to improve accessibility for visually impaired pedestrians while supporting compliance with Australian accessibility standards. Works were completed across designated pedestrian movement zones as part of the bridge and pathway infrastructure upgrades.
Challenges and Solution
The installation required precise coordination within an active infrastructure construction environment, alongside ongoing bridge and civil works. Enforcer delivered an efficient installation process that aligned with project sequencing and ensured accurate placement across all tactile areas.
Project Outcome
The completed installation improves pedestrian accessibility and safety throughout the upgraded bridge connection. The Tactile Indicator Studs provide clear ground surface guidance for pedestrians while supporting compliance and long-term durability within a high-traffic public infrastructure environment.
