Childcare Centre Traffic & Pedestrian Works – Wyndham Vale, VIC
Enforcer supplied and installed a range of traffic management and pedestrian safety products for a new childcare centre in Wyndham Vale, Victoria.
The works included line marking, wheel stops, a disabled parking bollard, tactile indicators and stair nosing, helping organise vehicle areas and improve pedestrian movement throughout the centre.
Project Scope
Enforcer supplied and installed a range of vehicle, parking and pedestrian safety products for a new early learning centre at Wyndham Vale, VIC. The works covered the car park, vehicle access points and pedestrian routes throughout the site, and included bollards, wheel stops, tactile indicators, stair nosing and line marking.
Challenges and Solution
Early learning centres concentrate their traffic into two short periods each day, and the pedestrians crossing the car park during those periods include children small enough to sit within a reversing vehicle's blind zone. Measures relying on driver awareness alone are insufficient. Enforcer specified a layered approach. Line marking and wheel stops establish vehicle boundaries and prevent encroachment into pedestrian areas. Bollards provide physical protection where vehicle and pedestrian paths intersect. Tactile indicators mark hazards and directional changes to Australian Standards, and stair nosing improves edge definition and slip resistance on steps in frequent use.
Project Outcome
The completed works provide clearly defined vehicle and pedestrian zones capable of functioning under peak traffic Traffic management relies on physical measures rather than signage alone, and pedestrian routes meet accessibility requirements throughout. All products were specified for durability under sustained daily use and for a finish consistent with the new building. The project demonstrates Enforcer's capability to deliver complete site, traffic and pedestrian safety packages for early learning centres and other developments where children form a significant proportion of site users.
