Types of bike racks:

Hooped

Hooped bike racks are are great for businesses, who need to provide employees and customers secure bike storage. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, hooped racks are purchased indiviudally. This means you can choose how many racks are needed for the area, as well as the spacing between each. The thick pipe provides ample strength for high security, with the design providing enough flexibility to cater to all types and sizes of bikes and similar pedestrian transport.

Coat hanger

Coat hanger bike racks also known as multi bay bike racks, are excellent for schools and parks. The slots provide secure bicycle storage with the ends also able to be used for storage too. It's important to be aware, that coat hanger racks only come as surface mounted, they cannot be installed in ground. This may be a factor in your decision making depending on the type of look you're trying to achieve.

Surface mounted

These racks include both coat hanger and hooped styles. The surface mount requires an existing concrete surface, which the rack is secured to using its flanges (base) with bolts. Flanges can come in a variety of styles, including round, square or rectanglur. If you think you might want to relocate the racks at any point, a surface mount is ideal for you. The bolts can easily be undone and the rack relocated with minimal work involved.

Wall mounted

Similar to surface a mount, a wall mounted bike rack is installed on a wall using bolts. Again this allows for the convenience of relocation should it be required. The real benefit of a wall mount, is the minimal space required to securely store biycylces. However, it's important to consider the type people using this rack, as bikes will need to be lifted up, which can be difficult depending on how high they're placed.

In Ground

If bike rack relocation is not an issue for you, an in ground rack is suited to your needs. Most commonly a hooped design, they are protected from theft with their solid design and form of installation. They are planted into the ground and then secured using a concrete pour, which holds the rack in place. An anchor located at the bottom of the rack then provides additional reinforcement and protection against theft.
