DIY installation

Tools & equipment:

  • Hammer
  • 17mm socket
  • Speed hump(s)
  • M10 screw fixings (included in speed humps)
  • 14mm masonry drill (hammer drill)
  • Broomstick

Steps:

Step 1
  • Buy speed humps online and ensure you have all necessary tools & equipment
  • Check the area and work out where the speed humps will be placed and for what reason
Step 2
  • Using a measuring tape, mark where speed humps are be installed
  • Ensure they are in a straight line with equal distances between
Step 3
  • Using the hammer drill, drill through the speed hump holes using a 14mm masonry drill bit
  • Inspect the hole is both clean (using brush) and aligned
Step 4
  • Drill holes up to 120mm deep on the areas marked previously for installation
  • Ensure dust and dirt is removed from the holes
Step 5
  • Using the plastics plugs provided, drive these into the holes making sure they are aligned and straight
  • Use a hammer carefully to tighten these
Step 6
  • Once ready, line up the speed hump with the plastic plugs inserted into the ground
  • Using the M10 fixing screws supplied, insert these through the speed hump and into the hole
  • Tighten these using the socket (ensure breathing room as to not crack the plastic)
Step 7
  • Continue repeating this process for each section of the speed hump
